Ferrari auto history. Enzo Ferrari was manager of the Alfa Romeos in the 1930s. The Prancing Horse logo was given to Ferrari by the great Italian World War 1 flying ace Francesco Baracca’s family. Enzo soon left Alfa Romeo, and set his own auto racing team (Scuderia-Ferrari) in 1940. Gioacchino Colombo was the designer of the first Ferrari auto, the 125S.
